Wei Xiaoguang is an artist based in NYC. He received his MFA from Hunter College in New York, and his BFA from the Central Academy of Fine Art, Beijing, China. Wei has exhibited in group exhibitions between the US and China. Include Chambers Fine Art, New York, Super Duchess Gallery, New York, Ethan Cohan Gallery, New York, Art+Shanghai Gallery, Shanghai, Art New York Fair, New York, Material Art Fair, Mexico. His solo exhibitions include Durable Pixels at SLEEPCENTER, New York, Humble at Fresh Window Gallery, New York, and solo performance project at the Central Academy Art Museum in Beijing, China.


Wei Xiaoguang’s works combine multiple levels of historical and representational painting techniques. Mining pop culture, art history, and advertising visual language, the artist often blending multiple perspectives and scales; while emphasizing surface, texture and the effects of light, Wei’s compositions function as meditations on the interplay of illusion, representation and reality that about very essence of painting itself. Wei’s works are represented by Fresh Window Gallery of Brooklyn.
